# OpenRAR

> Free web app that opens RAR, 7z and other archives in the browser, on Mac, iPhone, iPad or PC, and converts them to ZIP. Files are processed on the device and never uploaded. Made by Yando Pte. Ltd. (Singapore).

## What it does
- Opens RAR (RAR4 and RAR5, including solid archives), 7z, ZIP (including password-protected ZIP), TAR, .tar.gz/.tgz, .tar.bz2, .tar.xz, .gz, ISO and CPIO.
- Saves files one by one, or converts the whole archive to a single ZIP that macOS, Windows, iOS and iPadOS open natively.
- No upload, no account, no tracking; works offline once loaded.

## Limits
- Password-protected RAR and 7z archives can't be opened yet; multi-part RAR (.part1.rar, .r00) must be joined first.
- Everything stays in browser memory: archives up to about 2 GB (500 MB on phones) and up to about 2.5 GB unpacked.
- It doesn't create RAR files. Not affiliated with RARLAB or WinRAR.
